Obituary

Obituary for Anna Funk

Anna Funk
April 19, 1914 – October 19, 2019

Anna Funk was born to Henry and Helena Peters Funk in Munich, North Dakota. She lived on the family farm until 1918 when the family moved to town. Anna had three sisters Tina, Marie and Helen. The family spoke German in the home. Anna attended grade school in town where she learned English and was then able to teach her younger sisters. When she was 14, her father sold his butcher shop and the family farm and they migrated to Oregon in September of 1929, where Anna finished 8th grade. Anna never married and worked inside the family home all of her life. She was a hard worker for the family and her duties included taking care of her younger sisters, her extended family and maintaining the upkeep of the home. In the late 1990’s, she moved into the Dallas Retirement Village spending the last 15 years in the health care section. She had a confident faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Evangelical Bible Church. She enjoyed needlework, embroidering pillow cases as gifts and making quilt tops.

Her sisters, none of whom married, predeceased her Tina 1943, Marie 1991 and Helen 2004.

A memorial service will begin at 1:00pm Thursday, October 24th in the Dallas Retirement Village Chapel. Private interment was in the Dallas Cemetery. The Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the arrangements. www.dallastribute.com
