Obituary for Lena 'Lorraine' Lorraine Reck

Lena Lorraine Workman Reck, 89, a resident of Beaver Creek (rural Clarkes) died Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at her home. She was born on March 22, 1930 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada the daughter of Thomas Leavitt and Mary Emma Marsden Workman. She moved in 1937 from Alberta, Canada with her parents to Corvallis first and then to Independence. The family made Woodburn their home in 1938. On October 3, 1948, she married Wilbur “Willy” Marion Reck in Reno, Nevada. Between 1948 to 1957, they moved over 30 times. They finally settled in the Beaver Creek area. For years she was a foster mom to many children. Lorraine was very busy in church and community functions ie. PTA, 4-H volunteer, fire and ambulance department and the GI Food Distribution. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Molalla ward. She served in many capacities through the years including: Relief Society, Primary, Young Women and Sunday School. She loved to go to the Portland Temple with her sister Audrey.

She is survived by her sons Marion Gene Reck, Dennis Wayne Reck, Jerry Linn Reck, Jack LeRoy Reck, John William Reck and Richard Jason Reck along with 47 grandchildren and 115 great grandchildren and 13 great- great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Lowell Wayne Workman. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur on April 8, 2008, son Ronald Lee Reck, grandchildren Justin Reck, Tyler Reck, Lee Roy Marshall Reck and great grandchildren Parker Reck and Kayla Posey, siblings Thomas LaVar Workman, Audrey Emma Fletcher, Necia Bennett, Benare Harold Workman, Marsden Elray Workman, Gerald Leon Workman, Margaret Juanita Fobert, and Ronald Marion Workman.

Viewing will be from 9:00 to 9:45am Thursday, March 19th in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Molalla with funeral services starting at 10:00am in the church. Interment will be in the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. The Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center is caring for the family.
